FUNDRAISING DIARY

13/11/2011 - Work, work, and needles.

I've been working lots recently - I've pretty much become the go-to-girl whenever someone calls in sick, so there have been lots of extra hours recently. It's very tiring, but I'm earning lots of money so I can't really complain. The job's also been great for increasing my confidence and ability to talk to people, which is something I've always struggled with and really need to remedy.

A couple of days ago I also had an appointment with one of the nurses at my local GP surgery to get some advice on my travel vaccinations, as I didn't really know what I'd need. A lot, it turns out.

I'll be getting vaccinations for hepatitis A and typhoid, courses of injections for rabies and hepatitis B, and I'll need malaria tablets too. Eight injections in total, and the whole lot's probably going to cost in excess of £250. Yippee.

Ah well. I need to get them. It would ruin my trip a little if I went and got malaria or rabies.
