22/06/2011 - And so it begins.

Today I got my confirmation e-mail from ACE! I know it's a long way off but I'm so excited. They sent me a bunch of documents including a kit list - I'll need a first aid kit, rucksack, mosquito repellent, water bottle, head torch, and a lot of other stuff...nothing that you wouldn't expect). I'll be getting some stuff in the post too, apparently, although I'll have to wait until I get home for that.

So now that my place is confirmed I can start fundraising! Not really sure where to start, to be honest...it's a lot of money to raise. I'll be (hopefully) getting a job once I get home, and I'm planning on clearing out a load of my old things and selling them on eBay or at a car boot sale. Should get a few hundred pounds from that. I want to do a sponsored something too, though I'm not sure what. I like rowing...maybe a sponsored row. Or sponsored 10K run. I'd really like to do a sponsored skydive, but they're quite expensive.

Ah well. Plenty of time to think about that!
